Chef Lynn Marie has always had two passions in life….Cooking and Service. She has been delighting
friends and family with her natural culinary skills for over 25 years. In 1999, her dream of launching the business
came to fruition when cooking for co-workers, and eight years later, finally made it happen and started Naturally Gourmet
Personal Chef Service.
She has turned her passion of cooking into a career and now you can experience her delicious meals
in the comfort of your own home.
As a young girl at age 8, I began cooking dinners for my family when my Mom worked two jobs. I
learned how to cook watching Mom and asking questions about recipes over the phone. At family functions, I was always in the
kitchen with my Mom, and my Aunt Jean, who both truly inspired me to cook great food.
I continued my culinary adventure working in the restaurant and bar business, always around food
as a bar manager, bartender and waitress. I have never stopped learning and practicing the art of cooking with food magazines,
cookbooks, TV demonstrations and fine dining experiences while continually fueling my passion for great food.
I spend my free time reading cookbooks, and books on food and nutrition. Time permitting for fun,
I love watching the Food Network, especially Iron Chef, with several of my favorite chefs including Mario Batali, Cat Cora, Masaharu
Morimoto, Giada De Laurentis, Bobby
Flay, and another favorite Chef, on the Travel Channel, Anthony Bourdain.
I have traveled throughout the United States and Mexico, and my experience with different cultures
and cuisine have been incorporated into my own cooking style. I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge of food preparation
techniques, different dishes and new cuisine.
I incorporate all natural and organic ingredients, and apply the holistic way of life, using my
knowledge of nutrition to help keep you and your family healthy. My innovative menus are hand-crafted using only the freshest
and finest quality ingredients available, many from local organic farms throughout St. Clair County.
My cooking experience ranges from simple, home-cooked comfort foods, to more complex, gourmet fare
and fine dining. I have learned to cook from my family, through training, life experiences, and through much experimentation.
I also combine my passion for food and teaching, and have created engaging, informative and fun culinary classes, team building
seminars, and culinary events. My classes inform as well as entertain... enrich as well as amuse.
Prior to becoming a Personal Chef, Chef Lynn Marie worked in the business sector as a Realtor for
over 10 years and maintains her Michigan Real Estate License in Escrow. She enjoyed the business world but wanted a more creative
outlet and something that would allow her to explore her passion for food, and maintain the time for her to be the
mother to the light and joy of her life... her son Brett.
She is also a substitute teacher for the Port Huron Area School District. When she isn't cooking,
she's teaching. As she enjoys the classroom, she now uses this experience and passion for teaching out of the classroom
and in the kitchen instructing others in cooking with private cooking classes, culinary classes, and corporate
team building events.
Chef Lynn Marie of Naturally Gourmet Personal Chef Service is proud to be a self-taught chef, additionally,
she was professionally trained by the American Personal Chef Institute located in San Diego, California. She is a member
of the American Personal Chef Institute and The American Personal & Private Chef Association.
Chef Lynn Marie is ServeSafe Food Safety Certified by the State of Michigan (National Restaurant
Association), and is fully licensed and insured. She also has a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration-Management, and an
Associate Degree in Business Administration-Accounting/Computer Information Systems.
